Application
Students have to apply though the online application system, and also complete Step 1(below) while they have active student status at Óbuda University. Students cannot apply after they received their absolved status.
1. Find a partner university / internship place
Study abroad:
Óbuda University makes faculty-related contracts with partner universities. This means that a certain institution has a contract with only 1-2 faculties, that is, a student of a particular faculty cannot study to any of the partner universities. Therefore, we ask that you to use the "Where can you go?" page's list when choosing a partner institution. The abbreviation of the faculty is shown in the last column.

Internship:
Look for an internship place and if you find one, ask for an informal letter/email regarding that the company/placement you chose is willing to accept you as an intern for at least 2 months.
2. Make the online application
Applicants have to make the formal application though this website: https://papers.erasmus.uni-obuda.hu/user/single_application
It can be used with neptun id and password. You have to Launch new application, then upload English CV, English motivational letter and Transcript of records issued by the Student office.
3. Application deadlines
For fee-paying students:
- For study abroad: 6th Oct 2023
- For internship: continuously, but before the absolved status
For Stipendium Hungaricum scholars:
- for internship: continuously, but before the absolved status
Please keep in mind that the evaluation process takes approx. 2-3 months, so please apply 3 months before the internship starts.
4. Evaluation (Professional)
In case of a positive evaluation of your application professionally, the faculty coordinator contacts the Erasmus Office (outgoing@uni-obuda.hu). After this, they contact you regarding next steps and they start to evaluate your application formally, too.
What does a positive professional evaluation mean? It means that your application has been approved professionally and you have the temporary Erasmus status.
In case of internship after graduation, all of steps above have to be done BEFORE the student would receive the final examination (absolved status).
5. Erasmus status certificate
The International Office can create this kind of certificate. If you need this for your Visa, please contact the International Office via email after the faculty coordinator contacts the International Office and you received the positive evaluation of your application: outgoing@uni-obuda.hu
Important: the certificate does not mean that your application is approved and you will get the scholarship, but you can start to organise your internship and visa. The scholarship will be awarded only after your application is approved formally, too. Your application is closed when it meets the criteria of the Erasmus program formally and professionally. The amount of scholarship included in the certificate is preliminary calculation, it can differ from the amount appearing in the agreement later.
6. Evaluation (Formally)
After you receive the positive professional evaluation from your faculty's Erasmus coordinator he/she will send us the result of your application too. After that we will contact you to begin with the formal evaluation.
What does a formal evaluation mean? It means that the International Office will check if your application complies with Erasmus rules.
After you receive the positive evaluation you will receive further information about concluding the contract.
Time period
The minimum duration is 60 days (2 months), shorter mobilities are not eligible; the maximum supported period: 5 months for study abroad. The duration of the internship can be longer than this, but we can give a scholarship for a maximum of 3 months.
Countries, partners/companies
Study abroad:
The university makes faculty-related contracts with partner universities.
Choosing a partner university:
- must be the partner of the applicant's faculty
- the host university has to offer at least 20 credit worth of courses on the applicant's study level
- the applicant has to speak the language of the training of the host country at least on a B2 level or equivalent
Other factors can be if the host institution offers dormitory accommodation, if the campus is located in the capital or rural regions of the country, etc.
The host institution should be selected on the application page, maximum three different one. The first and second must from the faculty's partners, the third can be another partner university too with the consent of your faculty. Experience shows that these applications which were not previously agreed with the partner are usually rejected.
Internship/internship after graduation:
Your placement must be within the European Union, Iceland, Lichtenstein, Norway, Turkey and Northern Macedonia. It can not be in Hungary.
The applicant must look for a host company/organization by themselves, the process of this is similar to a job search. To help you, we have compiled a list of companies and institutions where our former scholarship recipients completed professional internships:
